Legal terms

Damage  :-  A sum of money which the court orders the defendant to pay to the plaintiff as compensation for breach of contract or tort

Damnify :-  To cause loss, to cause hurt or injury.

Death :- The ending of life, the cessation of vital function and signs.

Debenture :-  A document or certificate signed by the officer of a corporation acknowledging indebtedness for money lent and guaranteeing repayment with interest.
Debtor :-  One who owes an obligation to pay money.

Decree :-  A judgment delivered by a court. It is formal expression of an adjudication which conclusively determines the right of parties. 

Legal Phrases

 

Abatable Nuisance :- the nuisance so easily removable, that the aggrieved party may lawfully cure the problem.

Bank Fraud :- The criminal Offence of knowingly executing, or attempting to execute, a scheme or artifice to defraud a financial institution.

Burden Of Proof :- The obligation of proving the fact of the case.

Capital Offence :-  Crime punishable with death.

Defamatory decree:- a decree which simply declaresthe rights of the parties as they exist, without ordering anything to be done.
